• UR के 2 में से 1 पद मध्यप्रदेश की मूल निवासी महिलाओं के लिए आरक्षित है। अगर योग्य महिला अभ्यर्थी नहीं मिलती, तो उसी वर्ग के पुरुष अभ्यर्थी से भरा जाएगा।
• दिव्यांगजन के लिए 1 पद (LD — locomotor disability) आरक्षित है। इसके लिए 40% या अधिक स्थायी दिव्यांगता का UDID पोर्टल से जारी प्रमाण-पत्र चाहिए।
• ST और EWS वर्ग के लिए इस विज्ञापन में कोई पद नहीं है। ऐसे अभ्यर्थी अनारक्षित पदों के लिए आवेदन कर सकते हैं, पर उन्हें आरक्षण या आयु-छूट का लाभ नहीं मिलेगा।
• आरक्षण का लाभ सिर्फ़ मध्यप्रदेश के मूल निवासियों को मिलता है; दूसरे राज्यों के अभ्यर्थी अनारक्षित माने जाएंगे।

• Of the 2 UR posts, 1 is reserved for women who are domiciled in Madhya Pradesh. If no eligible woman is found, it goes to a male candidate of the same category.
• 1 post is reserved for a locomotor-disability (LD) candidate, who needs a UDID-portal certificate showing 40% or more permanent disability.
• There is no ST or EWS post in this advertisement. Candidates from those categories can still apply against unreserved posts, but without reservation or age relaxation.
• Reservation applies only to MP domicile candidates; applicants from other states are treated as unreserved.

काम क्या होगाWhat the job involves

विज्ञापन के अनुसार विधि अधिकारी का काम है: जेल में बंद कैदियों को विधिक सहायता देना, न्यायालयों में दायर याचिकाओं में जवाब (प्रत्यावर्तन) तैयार करना, अदालती आदेशों पर समय-सीमा में कार्यवाही करना और विभाग के अन्य न्यायालयीन काम। यानी यह रोज़ का अदालती काम है — जिन्हें drafting और जेल-क़ानून में रुचि है, उनके लिए यह अच्छा पद है।

Per the advertisement, the Law Officer provides legal aid to prisoners, prepares the department’s replies to petitions filed in court, acts on court orders within deadlines, and handles the department’s other litigation work. It is day-to-day court work — a good fit if you enjoy drafting and prison law.

योग्यता और आयुEligibility and age

1. शिक्षा: विधि (Law) में स्नातक उपाधि।
2. अनुभव: अधिवक्ता के रूप में दो वर्ष का practice अनुभव (परिशिष्ट-5 के अनुसार प्रमाण-पत्र और शपथ-पत्र)।
3. आयु: 01.01.2027 को कम से कम 21 वर्ष और 40 वर्ष से कम। आयु-छूट परिशिष्ट-1 में दी गई है। जन्मतिथि वही मानी जाएगी जो 10वीं की अंकसूची में है।
4. रोज़गार पंजीयन: आवेदन करते समय ज़रूरी नहीं है, लेकिन MP के मूल निवासियों को साक्षात्कार के लिए दस्तावेज़ भेजने की अंतिम तिथि तक रोज़गार कार्यालय का जीवित पंजीयन प्रमाण-पत्र देना होगा। जो पहले से सरकारी/अशासकीय सेवा में हैं, वे विभाग/संस्थान का प्रमाण-पत्र देकर इससे छूट पा सकते हैं। दूसरे राज्यों के अभ्यर्थी हाईकोर्ट के आदेश (याचिका 5096/2022, 08.03.2022) के तहत इससे मुक्त हैं।

1. Education: a bachelor’s degree in Law.
2. Experience: two years of practice as an advocate (certificate and affidavit as per Appendix-5).
3. Age: at least 21 and below 40 on 01.01.2027. Relaxations are in Appendix-1. Your date of birth is taken from your Class 10 marksheet.
4. Employment-exchange registration: not needed at the time of applying, but MP domicile candidates must submit a live employment-office registration certificate by the last date for sending interview documents. Serving government/non-government employees can submit an employer certificate instead. Candidates from other states are exempt under the High Court order in petition 5096/2022 (08.03.2022).

सामान्य अंतिम तिथि 05.11.2026 बीत चुकी है। अब आवेदन केवल विलंब शुल्क के साथ हो सकता है: 06.11 से 12.11.2026 तक ₹3,000 और 13.11 से 18.11.2026 तक ₹25,000।

The regular deadline of 05.11.2026 has passed. You can now apply only with a late fee: ₹3,000 from 06.11 to 12.11.2026 and ₹25,000 from 13.11 to 18.11.2026.

फ़ॉर्म में गलती? ऑनलाइन सुधार की अवधि: 20.10.2026 – 07.11.2026; विलंब शुल्क के साथ भरे गए फ़ॉर्म में सुधार केवल 18.11.2026 तक। शुल्क ₹50 प्रति सत्र। नाम में सुधार नहीं हो सकता। श्रेणी, लिंग, जन्मतिथि जैसी जानकारी पर ही परिणाम बनता है, इसलिए सुधार की अवधि ख़त्म होने के बाद इनमें कोई बदलाव नहीं माना जाएगा।

Made a mistake in the form? Online correction window: 20.10.2026 – 07.11.2026; forms filed with a late fee can be corrected only until 18.11.2026. The fee is ₹50 per session. Your name cannot be corrected. Results are drawn up on the category, gender and date of birth you enter, so no changes are accepted once the correction window closes.

परीक्षा पैटर्नExam pattern

• नेगेटिव मार्किंग: सही उत्तर पर +3, ग़लत पर −1। आयोग का सूत्र है (3R − W)। चार विकल्पों में आँख बंद करके लगाया गया अंदाज़ा औसतन शून्य अंक देता है; दो विकल्प पक्के तौर पर हटा सकें, तभी अंदाज़ा फ़ायदे का है।
• दोनों खंडों में अलग-अलग 40% अंक ज़रूरी हैं (MP के मूल निवासी SC/ST/OBC/EWS/दिव्यांग के लिए 30%)। सिर्फ़ विधि में अच्छे अंक लाकर सामान्य अध्ययन छोड़ देना काम नहीं करेगा।
• प्रश्न-पत्र हिंदी और अंग्रेज़ी दोनों में होगा; अनुवाद में अंतर हो तो हिंदी मान्य होगी।
• साक्षात्कार 50 अंकों का है और उसमें कोई न्यूनतम अंक नहीं है। लिखित परीक्षा के बाद पदों के अधिकतम तीन गुना अभ्यर्थी साक्षात्कार के लिए बुलाए जाते हैं।
• अगर कुल आवेदन 500 से कम आए, तो लिखित परीक्षा नहीं होगी — चयन सिर्फ़ साक्षात्कार से होगा, और अभ्यर्थियों की छँटनी शैक्षणिक अंकों के आधार पर होगी। इस स्थिति में 4 पदों के लिए 36 अभ्यर्थी तक बुलाए जा सकते हैं।

• Negative marking: +3 for a right answer, −1 for a wrong one — the Commission’s formula is (3R − W). A blind guess among four options does not pay on average; guess only when you can rule out two options.
• You need 40% separately in each part (30% for MP domicile SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD). A strong Law score will not carry a weak General Studies score.
• The paper is bilingual; if the Hindi and English versions differ, Hindi prevails.
• The 50-mark interview has no minimum qualifying mark. At most three times as many candidates as posts are called for interview.
• If fewer than 500 applications come in, there will be no written exam: selection is by interview alone, with shortlisting on academic marks. For 4 posts, up to 36 candidates can then be called.

सिलेबस — किस पर कितना ध्यानSyllabus — where to focus

खंड ‘ब’ (विधि, 300 अंक) असली मुक़ाबला है। आधिकारिक सिलेबस में ये क़ानून नाम से दिए गए हैं:

Part B (Law, 300 marks) is where the exam is decided. The official syllabus names these laws:

• Basic laws: Constitution of India; Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023; Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023; Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023; Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988; National Security Act, 1980.
• MP minor acts: MP Excise Act, 1915; MP State Security Act, 1990; MP Lok Sewaon ke Pradan ki Guarantee Adhiniyam, 2010; MP Govansh Vadh Pratishedh Adhiniyam, 2004; MP Vishesh Nyayalaya Adhiniyam, 2011.
• Women & children: POCSO Act, 2012; Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013; Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005; Juvenile Justice Act, 2015; Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.
• Specific laws: Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984; Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987; SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989; Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993; Prisons Act, 1894 and Prisoners Act, 1900 (with MP amendments); Criminal Procedure (Identification) Act, 2022; MP Prisoners Release on Probation Act, 1954; Probation of Offenders Act, 1958.
• Miscellaneous criminal laws: Explosives Act, 1884; Essential Commodities Act, 1955; NDPS Act, 1985; Arms Act, 1959; Information Technology Act, 2000.

ध्यान दें कि सिलेबस में नए आपराधिक क़ानून (BNSS, BNS, BSA) हैं, पुराने CrPC/IPC/Evidence Act नहीं। अगर आपकी तैयारी पुराने कोड से है, तो section numbers नए क़ानूनों से मिलाकर पढ़ें। Prisons Act और Prisoners Act जेल विभाग की परीक्षा में स्वाभाविक रूप से अहम हैं, और ये बहुत कम अभ्यर्थी गहराई से पढ़ते हैं।

Note that the syllabus lists the new criminal laws (BNSS, BNS, BSA), not the old CrPC/IPC/Evidence Act. If you prepared on the old codes, map the section numbers to the new laws. The Prisons Act and Prisoners Act naturally matter in a Jail Department exam, and few candidates read them closely.

खंड ‘अ’ (सामान्य अध्ययन, 150 अंक) पूरी तरह मध्यप्रदेश पर केंद्रित है: MP का इतिहास और जनजातीय इतिहास, भूगोल (नदियाँ, जलवायु, वन, खनिज, ऊर्जा परियोजनाएँ), राजनीति व अर्थव्यवस्था (ज़िला प्रशासन, पंचायती राज, राज्य आयोग, PESA, SDG में MP की स्थिति), MP की जनजातियाँ व लोक-संस्कृति, और समसामयिक घटनाएँ व ICT (cloud computing, data science, IoT)।

Part A (General Studies, 150 marks) is entirely MP-focused: MP history and tribal history; geography (rivers, climate, forests, minerals, power projects); polity and economy (district administration, Panchayati Raj, state commissions, PESA, MP’s SDG standing); MP’s tribes and folk culture; and current affairs plus ICT (cloud computing, data science, IoT).

परीक्षा के बाद: उत्तर कुंजी और आपत्तिAfter the exam: answer key and objections

परीक्षा के बाद आयोग प्रावधिक उत्तर कुंजी अपनी वेबसाइट पर डालेगा और 5 दिन तक ऑनलाइन आपत्ति ली जाएगी — ₹150 प्रति प्रश्न और ₹40 पोर्टल शुल्क, जो वापस नहीं होता। अंतिम उत्तर कुंजी आने के बाद कोई आपत्ति नहीं सुनी जाती। अगर किसी प्रश्न का कोई विकल्प सही नहीं निकला तो वह प्रश्न हटा दिया जाता है और अंक बाकी प्रश्नों के अनुपात में गिने जाते हैं।

After the exam the Commission posts a provisional answer key and takes online objections for 5 days — ₹150 per question plus a ₹40 portal fee, non-refundable. Once the final key is out, no objection is entertained. If no option to a question is correct, the question is dropped and marks are scaled across the remaining questions.
