तीन चरणThree stages

1. प्रारंभिक परीक्षा — वस्तुनिष्ठ, OMR शीट पर।
2. मुख्य परीक्षा — लिखित, वर्णनात्मक।
3. साक्षात्कार — 185 अंक।

1. Preliminary exam — objective, on an OMR sheet.
2. Main exam — written, descriptive.
3. Interview — 185 marks.

अंतिम चयन सूची केवल मुख्य परीक्षा और साक्षात्कार के अंकों से बनती है। प्रारंभिक परीक्षा सिर्फ़ यह तय करती है कि मुख्य परीक्षा में कौन बैठेगा।

The final merit list is built only from the mains and interview marks. The prelims only decide who sits the mains.

प्रारंभिक परीक्षाPreliminary exam

• हर प्रश्न-पत्र में 100 प्रश्न, हर प्रश्न 3 अंक का; चार विकल्प (A, B, C, D) में से एक सही।
• नेगेटिव मार्किंग: सही उत्तर पर +3, ग़लत पर −1 (आयोग का सूत्र 3R − W)।
• प्रश्न-पत्र हिंदी और अंग्रेज़ी दोनों में; अनुवाद में अंतर हो तो हिंदी मान्य। द्वितीय प्रश्न-पत्र के “हिंदी भाषा में बोधगम्यता कौशल” वाले प्रश्न सिर्फ़ हिंदी में होते हैं।
• द्वितीय प्रश्न-पत्र केवल अर्हकारी है — इसके अंक मेरिट में नहीं जुड़ते, पर इसमें भी न्यूनतम अंक लाना ज़रूरी है।
• न्यूनतम अंक: अनारक्षित वर्ग (अनारक्षित महिलाओं सहित) — हर प्रश्न-पत्र में 40%; SC/ST/OBC/EWS/दिव्यांगजन — 30%।
• मुख्य परीक्षा के लिए हर वर्ग में कुल पदों के अधिकतम 20 गुना अभ्यर्थी चुने जाते हैं; कट-ऑफ़ के बराबर अंक वाले सभी शामिल होते हैं।
• उत्तर कुंजी पर आपत्ति: प्रावधिक कुंजी प्रकाशित होने के बाद 5 दिन तक, ऑनलाइन, प्रति प्रश्न शुल्क के साथ।

• Each paper has 100 questions of 3 marks; one correct answer among A, B, C, D.
• Negative marking: +3 for a correct answer, −1 for a wrong one (the Commission’s formula 3R − W).
• Papers are in Hindi and English; if they differ, Hindi prevails. Paper II’s “Hindi comprehension” questions are in Hindi only.
• Paper II is qualifying only — its marks don’t count towards merit, but you must still reach the minimum.
• Minimum marks: unreserved (including unreserved women) — 40% in each paper; SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD — 30%.
• Up to 20 times the number of posts in each category are called to the mains; everyone tied at the cut-off is included.
• Answer-key objections: online, for 5 days after the provisional key, with a per-question fee.

सामान्य अध्ययन के विषय: भारत का इतिहास; मध्यप्रदेश का इतिहास, संस्कृति और साहित्य; भारत का भूगोल; मध्यप्रदेश का भूगोल; भारत और मध्यप्रदेश की संवैधानिक व्यवस्था; भारत और मध्यप्रदेश की अर्थव्यवस्था; विज्ञान, पर्यावरण और स्वास्थ्य सहित आगे की इकाइयाँ। राज्य वन सेवा प्रारंभिक का पाठ्यक्रम भी यही है।

General Studies topics: history of India; history, culture and literature of Madhya Pradesh; geography of India; geography of MP; constitutional system of India and MP; economy of India and MP; and further units including science, environment and health. The State Forest Service prelims use the same syllabus.

मुख्य परीक्षा — 6 प्रश्न-पत्र, 1500 अंकMain exam — 6 papers, 1,500 marks

• सामान्य अध्ययन I–III के हर खंड में 30 प्रश्न: 15 अति लघुत्तरीय (2 अंक, 20 शब्द), 10 लघुत्तरीय (7 अंक, 60 शब्द), 5 दीर्घ उत्तरीय (10 अंक, 200 शब्द)।
• सामान्य अध्ययन IV के हर खंड में 29 प्रश्न: 16 अति लघु (2 अंक), 8 लघु (7 अंक), 4 दीर्घ (11 अंक), और 1 केस स्टडी (18 अंक)।
• छठे प्रश्न-पत्र में: पहला निबंध (1000 शब्द, 50 अंक), दूसरा निबंध (500 शब्द, 20 अंक), प्रारूप लेखन (500 शब्द, 15 अंक), प्रतिवेदन (250 शब्द, 15 अंक)।
• सामान्य अध्ययन I–IV के उत्तर हिंदी या अंग्रेज़ी में लिखे जा सकते हैं; पाँचवाँ और छठा प्रश्न-पत्र केवल हिंदी में।
• न्यूनतम अंक: हर प्रश्न-पत्र में (खंड अ और ब मिलाकर) अनारक्षित वर्ग के लिए 40%; SC/ST/OBC/EWS/दिव्यांगजन के लिए 30%।
• साक्षात्कार के लिए हर वर्ग में पदों के 3 गुना अभ्यर्थी बुलाए जाते हैं।

• GS I–III: each part has 30 questions — 15 very short (2 marks, 20 words), 10 short (7 marks, 60 words), 5 long (10 marks, 200 words).
• GS IV: each part has 29 questions — 16 very short (2 marks), 8 short (7 marks), 4 long (11 marks) and 1 case study (18 marks).
• Paper VI: first essay (1,000 words, 50 marks), second essay (500 words, 20 marks), drafting (500 words, 15 marks), report (250 words, 15 marks).
• GS I–IV may be answered in Hindi or English; Papers V and VI only in Hindi.
• Minimum marks: in each paper (Parts A and B together), 40% for unreserved; 30% for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD.
• Three times the posts in each category are called for interview.

इस ढाँचे से तैयारी के लिए तीन सबकThree lessons for preparation

1. हिंदी के 300 अंक तय हैं। पाँचवाँ और छठा प्रश्न-पत्र (कुल 300 अंक) सिर्फ़ हिंदी में हैं — अंग्रेज़ी माध्यम के अभ्यर्थी इन्हें अलग से साधें।
2. MP-विशेष हिस्सा बड़ा है। प्रारंभिक के सामान्य अध्ययन में मध्यप्रदेश के इतिहास, भूगोल, संविधान-व्यवस्था और अर्थव्यवस्था की अलग इकाइयाँ हैं।
3. प्रारंभिक में अंदाज़ा सोच-समझकर। चार विकल्पों में आँख बंद करके लगाया गया अंदाज़ा औसतन शून्य अंक देता है; दो विकल्प पक्के तौर पर हटा सकें, तभी उत्तर दें।

1. 300 marks are fixed in Hindi. Papers V and VI (300 marks) are Hindi-only — English-medium candidates should prepare them separately.
2. The MP-specific share is large. Prelims GS has separate units on MP’s history, geography, constitutional set-up and economy.
3. Guess carefully in the prelims. A blind guess among four options averages zero; answer only when you can rule out two options.
